What is the best way to contact Mrs. Kelsey

The best way to contact me is by writing us a note. I will make every
attempt to answer your note on the same day I receive it. You may also
reach me by calling the main office at 243-8160. I will be happy to return
your call!

What should my child bring for snack?

Please send in one healthy snack and drink. We set aside about 10 minutes
for snack each day. The children are responsible for opening their snack
and cleaning up after themselves. Of course we are always nearby to help!

Should I be emptying out my child's folder each night?

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Many things may come home in your child's folder each day. Notes from me,
PTA notices, daily work, etc. Please take the time to look at all of it.

How many parent/teacher conferences will we have this year?

We will have two parent/teacher conferences this year. The first will be in
November or December. (you signed up for this conference in September at
Kindergarten Back to School Night) The second conference will be in March
or April. I will arrange for this conference sometime in February.

My child is going home with a friend on a different bus. What do I do?

You must write a bus note when your child is going home on a different bus.
The note should include your child's first and last name, friend's name and
friend's bus number. We will take it out of your child's folder and bring
it to the main office. Your child will be issued a bus note that we will
hand him/her at dismissal.

How much help should I be giving my child on his/her homework?

It is important for you to encourage your child to do his/her homework on
their own as much as possible. Reading the directions and being close by
is important. When the homework asks them to write words or sentences, let
your child try it on their own. The language I use at school is to "stretch
out" the word and get down as many letters as possible.

My child has an after school activity. Do I have to write you a note?

Please let me know when your child is staying after school for an activity.
While I do get a master list from the PTA, it is always best to let me
know. Also, let me know if your child is not attending a scheduled after
school activity on a particular day.
