The Mohansic Shared Decision Making Council was established
under The New Compact For Learning which encourages community
involvement in our schools. The Council is compromised of teachers, parents,
staff members and administrators who are interested in improving the
educational result in our school. The Council meets approximately once a month
to discuss and act upon issues pertaining to our school. Occassionally members
are asked to volunteer to serve on committees and to report back to the
Council.
Each year the PTA is represented on the Council by several
parent members. Parent representatives are selected by the PTA members at
meetings based on interest and availability. We encourage you to participate,
and we welcome those who have an interest in our school and who are willing to
take responsibilityfor decisions affecting Mohansic. Parent representation
from all grade levels is important!
To be considered, please submit a letter to the Mohansic PTA
(addressed to: PTA - Shared Decision Making Council Nominations Committee).
Include some information about your background and qualifications and why you
are interested in joining the Council. Please include your telephone number
and your child(ren)'s ages and grade levels.
