This is a tentative schedule and may change depending on the needs of a
particular unit of study during the year. Please return homework in the
colored homework on the following school day unless otherwise indicated.
Monday Weekly spelling words sent home
• Practice activity and sentences
Tuesday Language Arts
• Could be writing or reinforcement of grammar, decoding
or other reading strategies
Wednesday Weekly book report distributed
• Book reports are due on Friday of each week
• Please use a fiction book (unless otherwise indicated)
from home or from the library to complete this book report. Particularly in
the beginning of the year, these should be read alouds done at home, NOT the
guided reading books sent home from school.
Thursday Math
• May be reinforcement of particular skills being introduced
and/or problem solving activities
** Guided reading books will be sent home for practice during the week.
Please return the book in the zip-loc bag to school the NEXT DAY (even if
you did not have a chance to complete the reading). **
In addition to nightly homework, I expect each child to be reading with/to a
parent on a daily basis.
