Class Information

¡Hola!

You can be successful in Spanish! Here is some information to help you:

1. Bring to class each day:

  • textbook
  • binder with unit pages/packets
  • pen or pencil
  • homework (if assigned)
  • a respectful and cooperative attitude

2. Homework is assigned twice (or more) each week. Check the calendar link for assignments for the month.

3. Students should review Spanish vocabulary for 10 minutes on nights when homework is not assigned. Try asking a family member or friend to quiz you or go to the QUIA link above to play review games

4. Grades are often based on a 5 point rubric. That means that you will not always receive grades out of 100. You will see a 1, 2, 3 , 4, or 5. Fours and fives are good to excellent. Anything below a score of 4 should be reviewed with me within one week. You may have to redo the assignment.

5. You may notice that there are a lot of books and games in our classroom. These activities are for you to enjoy in the event that you have time during class. I only ask that you treat materials gently and play quietly so other students are not disturbed.

This may seem like a lot of information, but in a few weeks you will be used to the routine and it will feel comfortable! I will help you until you get the hang of it! Don't worry! :)
