Miss Abdo Hi! My name is Nicole Abdo and I look forwarding to working with you and your child this year. As a student I attended Jamesville Elementary. After having a wonderful third grade teacher who really made an impact on me I knew I wanted to go into teaching. I received my BA from SUNY Potsdam in Elementary Education and Communications. In 1998 I became a substitute teacher and found myself at Jamesville Elementary again only this time as an adult. I began my career working with many of the teachers I had as a student. In 1999 I was hired as a long term sub in second grade. That position turned into a permanent job. I taught second grade for 6 years up until 2005 when I looped to third grade and have been teaching third grade for seven years. While teaching I enrolled in LeMoyne College's graduate program where I received my masters in Elementary Education.
In my free time I enjoy reading, shopping : )), traveling, swimming, attending and watching SU football and basketball games. I've also been a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan! Over this past year I began taking zumba and attend it weekly. It's such a fun way to stay in shape. I have also continue to run which I recently took up a few years ago. I've been running a number of 5k races in the area and look forward to continuing to participate in local races in the area. Over the summer I took golf lessons. I loved learning something new and it was great way to spend those hot summer days. I look forward to working with all of you this year and getting to know each of you! |
