Can you believe you are finally a senior in high school. Here are some
things that you should be doing now:
*Decide if you want to re-take the SAT or any SAT II's. Most seniors re-take
them in October or November. Visit the college board website to register or
pick up a registration packet in the guidance office. BE SURE TO WATCH THE
DEADLINES!!!Registration deadline for the October 9th test is September 7th.
Registration deadline for the November 6th test is October 1st.
*Begin to finalize the list of colleges you plan to apply to and make sure to
call for the applications (if you do not already have them). Make a copy of
the blank application and complete the photocopy - just to make sure you have
everything perfect BEFORE you complete the one that the admissions office
will actually see.
*Think about who you will ask to write letters of recommendation for you. Be
sure to ask them early to give them enough time to write a well though out
and positive letter. I have a form that I will be handing out during a
classroom visit in September. I ask you to please complete this form so that
I can write a better letter of recommendation for you.
* Make sure that you are continuing to take a challenging course load.
Colleges want to see a productive senior year - they do not want you to take
just three classes and then go home.
*See your counselor if you have any questions or concerns.
