Classroom Policies and Procedures

It is almost summer!  However, the dreaded reality comes forth and we have to realize that there are a couple months left of this thing we call school.  I urge you to continue to push forward.  Take your homework outside and study under the sun.  Work diligently in class so you can shoot basketball right when you pull into your driveway.  Keep pushing through this year... you still have one quarter left, and 4th quarter's grade is just as important as 1st.  Remember, always come to me if you feel like you are falling behind or need help- my door is always open.  Enjoy the sunshine and fun activities the Spring brings.  Still, make sure you are staying on task so you can forget about school for a few months this summer.

Please explore this website for useful information used throughout the year
Note: The calendar for your class is located on the links to the left- Every day there will be updates as to what we did in class, as well as attachments for any handouts you receive in class.  Lost a paper I gave to you in class?  Were you absent? Easy fix- just click on the day you were sick or missed a handout, and the attachment will be waiting for you.  You are able to view the calendar in either standard grid style, or list- whichever is more visually appealing to you.

Homework:

Whenever you are trying to improve at something, say a sport or an instrument, what do you do to get better?  You practice, right?  School is the same way.  Doing work at home improves your understanding of the material we study in class.  I do not believe in busy work, so I will only assign homework that will improve your understanding of any given subject.  Therefore, since I am making an attempt to not waste your time please do not waste our time. Come to class prepared with homework completed to the best of your ability so you can contribute to our class in a positive and productive manner.

Grading:

The grade you earn will be calculated using a total points system.  This method is useful because you can calculate your own grade at any time during the course.  This is simply done by dividing the total amount of points you have earned by the total amount of points possible.  Also, continue to check your grades online with NetClassroom.

Classroom Library:

Please take advantage of the classroom library.  I try to continually keep up with the most popular books of the moment- but, if there is one that you would like to read and is not in the library, please let me know and I will be happy to try and find it for you.  The only catch is... you must sign the books out.  Please be courteous and take care of my books so that all students can continue to read them

Absent:

If you are absent, please ask a classmate what you missed while you were gone.  Another easy source is the calendar (as described above) on the links to the left.  Please see me the day you return for any missed work.  Also, if you were not able to turn an assignment in due to the fact that you were absent-- I will expect it the day you return.
