Homework through out the year:
Please send in the reading/math calendar with your child every Friday.
Weekly Spelling homework can be found on the list each week. All homework
assignments will be corrected the following day. Spelling City is now
available on the 2nd grade website. Great interactive activities to
reinforce spelling skills.
Remember to read silently and orally 3 times a week. Students are only
required to read a paragraph or a couple of pages during oral reading.
Math facts (addition and subtraction to 18)should be studied a minimum of
three
times each week. We will keep parents informed of which facts we are working
on.
Other skills that can be reviewed at home are counting coins and telling
time.
Please check your child's homework notebook every night to ensure they copied
assignments and brought home the correct materials.
We also use the homework notebook to communicate with you.
Please check it for messages.
Remember to sign the notebook every night so we know you have checked it.
If your child cannot finish their homework in a reasonable amount of time
(usually no more than 30 minutes) please write a note to let us know.
The assignments mentioned above are routine weekly assignments. All other
daily assignments should be written in your child's Homework Notebook.
Please encourage your child to copy assignments carefully and bring home the
correct books and materials.
