Swine Flu:
You may have seen recent news coverage regarding Swine Flu across the country and in other parts of the world. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in coordination with local/state health departments is working closely with hospitals and healthcare providers to monitor, educate the public and take necessary measures to protect patients and the public.
The most important things you can do to stay healthy and prevent spread:
• Cover your cough or sneeze (cough/sneeze into a tissue or your shirt).
• Wash hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand cleaners.
• If you are sick – stay home and limit contact with others.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Symptoms to watch for (similar to the flu):
• Fever • Body Aches
• Runny Nose • Sore Throat
• Vomiting • Diarrhea
• Nausea
Contact your physician if:
• You have flu-like symptoms and have recently traveled to Mexico or another state with a confirmed case of Swine Flu.
• You have flu-like symptoms and have come in contact with someone who has recently traveled to Mexico or is confirmed with Swine Flu.
