6th GRADE CELEBRATION

In conjuction with DARE graduation,  PTA plans and organizes a celebration with food and fun.  

AMBASSADORS FOR LEARNING

Volunteers are invited to come and assist students with intervention and enrichment activities.

APPLES FOR THE STUDENTS (Giant Eagle)

Lee Eaton earns points each time you use your Giant Eagle Advantage card.  These points are accumulated and redeemed for great educational tools.  To participate in this program you must register your Giant Eagle Advantage card.  To register call      1-800-474-4777  1-800-474-4777 or log onto www.gianteagle.com and click on the Apples For The Students icon.  You will need your Giant Eagle Advantage card number and Lee Eaton’s School I.D. number of 2469.

ASSEMBLIES

PTA hosts several during the school year. The assemblies provide a fun alternative to educating in the classroom. Previous presenters have included Jim "Basketball" Jones, Broadband Boomerangs, & Mobile Education Productions.

AWARDS AND HONORS

• Ohio PTA Achievement Award – An award presented to a PTA member, someone in a related field or a friend of the PTA who has given long and/or outstanding service to children and youth.
• Outstanding Educator of the Year – This award is a way to honor an exceptional educator who encompasses the qualities and abilities that allow and encourage children to learn and develop their unique strengths and talents.
• Helping Hands Award – An award presented to a PTA member, who has given long and/or outstanding service to help with the educational process of students, participates in activities involving youth and is dedicated to the PTA Purpose.

BEAUTIFICATION

This committee coordinates projects to help keep our school grounds looking their very best. 

BOOK FAIR

PTA hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs during the year, in early November and in early spring. Both Book Fairs include family shopping opportunities. Our bookfairs promote literacy and connect students with the books they want to read.

EASY FUNDRAISERS

• Box Tops for Education –Found on many General Mills products, Lee Eaton receives $.10 for each box top we remit.  Classroom or hallway contest are offered throughout the year so ask your friends and family to collect them for you too!  A collection box is located in the school lobby for your convenience.
• Campbell’s Labels for Education – By clipping and submitting product labels and UPC codes from eligible Campbell products, Lee Eaton earns FREE educational merchandise such as computers, software, and books.

FOUNDERS DAY

This is celebrated in February during right to read week to honor those that founded PTA. The PTA generally makes a donation to Lee Eaton’s library in the name of past PTA Presidents.

HEALTH, SAFETY, & WELFARE

This committee works with the administration and staff to inform, promote, and encourage healthy and safe school (wellness) policies and procedures.  Hosted programs and events include a Red Cross Babysitting training class and the Mileage Club.  Additional programs, events, or guest speakers may also be planned throughout the year.

HOSPITALITY

This committee provides refreshments at our Lee Eaton PTA General Membership Meetings and plan other special programs and events as required.  The hospitality committee coordinates a back-to-school luncheon for the staff and dinners for teachers during November’s conference nights,

INTERNATIONAL NIGHT

Held annually, PTA hosts a spaghetti dinner and supports the staff in providing a tour of the world to celebrate the heritages of our Lee Eaton families. 

LEGISLATIVE -ADVOCACY

The Legislative Representative is responsible for keeping the Lee Eaton PTA membership informed on the National and State PTA legislative platform as well as local, county and state educational issues important to the membership and our students’ well-being.

MEMBERSHIP

Be sure to join the PTA!  Your $5.00 membership fee gives you a voting voice in our programs and activities and helps with the funding.  In addition, all PTA members have access to free online training, newsletters, bulletin boards, special product offerings or discounts, and more offered by Ohio and National PTA. Most important, however, joining PTA gives you a voice on important education issues on the state and national level.

MILEAGE CLUB

Students and Staff are invited to spend two days a week during recess to walk, run, or job around a marked course.  Participants have their cards punched after each lap and earn special rewards for obtaining specific levels

MINI-GRANTS

On an annual basis and as funds permit, Lee Eaton PTA awards mini-grants to teachers and staff to be used for the benefit of the students of Lee Eaton. These mini-grants are used for activities, projects, and programs that will enrich and enhance the education and welfare of the students.

NEWSLETTER

Did you miss that PTA meeting and want to know what’s going on? Read our newsletter. The newsletter contains a vast array of important information needed to reach our student and parents.

REFLECTIONS

Sponsored by the National PTA, the Reflections Program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students are encouraged to give thought to the annual theme and express themselves through photography, visual arts, literature, or musical composition. Lee Eaton PTA will recognize each student’s entries. Their works may move on to compete at the district, state, or national level. Please encourage your children to participate.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Lee Eaton PTA awards one or two Good Citizenship scholarships to graduating seniors who attended Lee Eaton.

SCHOOLKIDZ KITS

SchoolKidZ is a program in which parents can order their child’s school supplies for the next school year. The kits come complete with all the supplies needed for the year in a handy box that can be used at home as storage for your child’s papers and artwork. This is a service offered to our families of Lee Eaton. PTA does not raise any monies from the sale of SchoolKidZ kits.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

This committee coordinates family events to help foster a relationship between the home and the school and allow students to socialize.  Past events include a movie night, Mother/Son bowling night and Father/Daughter dance.

SPIRIT WEAR

PTA occasionally sells Spirit Wear items that generally consist of Lee Eaton and Nordonia T-Shirts, Hoodies, and Polos.

SUNSHINE

The Sunshine Committee brings a little sunshine into the lives of Lee Eaton students and staff. They also recognize each teacher and staff on their birthdays.

TEACHER / STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

Celebrated during the first full week of May, PTA hosts a week of meals, treats, gifts and special surprises to honor Lee Eaton’s teachers and staff.

WAYS & MEANS

PTA coordinates fundraisers during the year to support our budget and to make special purchases for the school.
