What are the qualifications for an 8th grader to take Algebra 1? The student must be strong in 2 of the 3 following criteria: 1. Score on the placement test 2. Carry at least a B average in 7th grade 3. Scholastic Tests - Terra Nova, Proficiency Tests, etc. A 4th criteria that will be considered is: 4. Teacher recommendation from their current Math teacher April 30, May 1 & 2, 2008 Saturday, May 3, 2008 AT 11;00 AND SUNDAY MAY 4, 2008 AT 2;00 P.M. When is 8th grade Confirmation? Saturday, May 10, 2008 AT 10.00A.M. When is the 8th grade trip to Washington DC? no date set yet for 2008 What is the new testing program? The diocese of Toledo no longer is using the Terra Nova test. They are using the SCANTRON test for grades 3-8. We will give this test in October and in April. Student scores will be available immediately after completing this test because it is done on the web. We are learning the new details as we go through this year. Our first training is in September. Are all of the teachers at NCS certified? YES. Look for the list of our teachers in the next Musterdseed with their areas of certification and degrees. Where could I find a copy of your school curriculum? Go to the Diocese of Toledo web page (cyss.org) and click on schools. You will find a link to courses of study there. (cyss stands for Catholic Youth and School Services) When does the ECC/ELEMENTARY ADVISORY COUNCIL meet? They meet the second Wednesday of each month.
