 LANGUAGE ARTS NEWS:
READING: 
TUESDAY'S READING: The little paperback will be in your child's folder. 
Return it on Wednesday.
SOUNDS FOR THE WEEK: Long o spelled o_e and contractions using 'm, n't 'll
BASAL READING: . You will read the story on Wednesday and work on fluency on 
Thursday with rereading the same story.  Your child should be able to read 
the story without stopping to sound out words. It should be read smoothly and 
with expression. 
ENGLISH   We continue to learn about proper nouns such as, days of the week, 
months, and holidays begin with capital letters. 
SPELLING: We will have a spelling test on Friday, Dec. 4.   You may want to 
have your child try writing the words for you to check if he/she can spell 
the words and write them correctly.

LIBRARY: Remember Wednesday is our library day.  

RELIGION: This week we will discuss the season of Advent.  On Monday, we will 
make an Advent wreath from paper to take home.

MATH: We will identify and locate numbers on a hundreds chart. Also, we will 
be learning to count dimes and pennies together. On Wednesday and Thursday, 
we will work with the line symmetry.  We continue to practice our facts each 
day. So far we have learned doubles, +1, -1, +0, -0 and subtracting a number 
from itself.
