About The Teacher
Welcome to my web page. This is my 31st year teaching with it being my 19th year teaching first grade. My Bachelor of Science in Education is from Bowling Green State University. I taught second grade from 1969-1974 and then stayed home with my daughters until I came back to teaching in 1984 when I taught preschool. All my years of teaching have been in this Catholic school. My husband, Stan, and I have been married for 39 years. We live in Norwalk with our Welsh Corgi named Dakota. We have two daughters, Erica and Nicole. Both of our daughters graduated from Saint Paul High. We have four grandchildren, Matthew (18), Mackenna (9), Tate (5), and Izabel (1). On my webpage you will find the weekly newsletter which will be updated each Monday, the word wall words and spelling list words for the week, home assignments. Feel free to contact me by email (cbernhardt@ncsmail.org) at school..I will check my mail at school each morning before 8:15 and again before leaving for home. I will respond to your email as soon as I am able. Please come back often.
Mission Label:
Mission
To live and learn together in a peaceful and safe environment. To do the best we can each day and to encourage those around us to be their best. Class Pledge: I pledge today to do my best in reading, math and all the rest. I promise to obey the rules..in my class and in my school. I'll respect myself and others too. I'll expect the best in all I do. I am here to learn all I can, to do my best, and be all I am. Teacher I promise your child will learn something new every day Some days he will bring it home in his hand Some days he will bring it home in his head And some days he will bring it home in his heart!
