Religion: We will begin talking about the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Reading: We will be reading “Turkey for Thanksgiving” pp. 286-305 and other supplemental books.
Comprehension Skills: Draw Conclusions
Phonics: Long a spelled a, ai, ay
High Frequency Words:
door, minute, sorry, behind, brought, promise, everybody
Vocabulary Words:
Thanksgiving, riverbank, lumbered, hooves
Amazing Words:
dine, holiday, participate, decorate, banquet, flare, glimmer, whispery
** Practice reading the High Frequency Words, Vocabulary Words, and Amazing Words with
your child so they will be able to pronounce the words as they read the stories.
Spelling: Long a
tail, main, wait, say,away, play, raise, brain, paint, stay, today, tray.
Challenge Words: holiday, daily, raisin
Lang: Possessive Nouns: A noun that shows who or what owns something is possessive. To show
ownership add an apostrophe and -s when the noun is singular. Add just an apostrophe when the
noun is plural.
Math: Telling Time : Chapter 14
