English Grade 5


       Congratulations to Julia Kirby!  Her essay about what she is thankful for this holiday season won the Cheviot Westwood Community Association's annual Christmas essay contest.  She got to read her essay at the Nativity Scene lighting on Sunday, November 27th.  In addition, our school received $250 for our school library and Julia received a gift card.  We are all so proud of Julia.
                                                                                  

        
Written Expression is the new name for English class. 
It includes two components: writing and grammar
Students can improve their writing skills by writing, writing, writing!   

 
  This year, you will polish your writing skills through journaling, writing descriptions of exciting places you've been, making up stories, writing observations........anything that uses your fertile imagination!
