Dear Parents,
I would like to thank you all for your sincere expressions of sympathy
and prayers last month. I know prayers were answered as everything went just
as well as could be expected. Mom is in God's hands now! I know it had been
a rough time for the children as well. I feel that we are now on track
though. My hat is off to Mrs. Huhn who stuck with us through thick and thin.

This will be a busy month! We are finished with all letters as well as
sh, th, ch, wh words. We will cover L blends, S blends, and R blends. The
kids are really getting the idea of these types of words! The children have
been working on a very special memory book and this has also been serving as
their journal.

The following is a list of events for the month:
***	The children will not be bringing home any more library books after May
4th . Mrs. Thom needs to inventory all books, so, to make her life easier
please return all outstanding library books no later than May 11th. Remember
no report card is given to a child who has an outstanding book or who has not
paid for such.

***	The absolute last day for the 100 book club is May 18th. Send in your
child’s May book list by then. Also, on this date we will no longer be
bringing home our red reading folders.

*** The flower sale is on Thursday and Friday before Mother's Day.
Please, If you are having your child purchase flowers send in all monies on
Thursday. There is very little time on Friday to let the children purchase
flowers during class time. You may also purchase the flowers with your child
after the tea party.

***	May 12th is the Mothers Tea. Moms will wait on the patio outside the
classroom by 9:45. Your children will come and get you. Children should be
dressed in their Sunday best. Bring a handkerchief!!!! Dad’s who are helping
please arrive in the cafeteria by 9:25. Please leave younger siblings at
home! This is a day for you and your kindergartener.

***	The last day for Computers is Monday May 11th.

***	Friday, May 18th is the Trek for Tech. Out of uniform day. Wear your
blue t- shirt and no sandals please.

***	May 29th is Bubble/Beach Day. Out of uniform with no sandals please. The
children will be able to bring toys that make bubbles. There is no need to go
out to buy them a new toy. If you have something that makes interesting
bubbles send it in with your child and please write your child’s name on it.
We will do this event rain or shine.

Till Later,
Mrs. Barney
