November Kindergarten Newsletter

Dear Parents,
The kindergarteners and the entire school is having a food drive for
the food bank. Please send in any items this week and next. We would like to
fill several boxes.
Our room is often cool early in the morning until the heat settles in.
Please make sure that your child has a school sweatshirt or sweater to slip
on if they are cool rather than wearing their coat in class.
In remembrance of Veterans Day and in the spirit of Thanksgiving the
children will be making and sending cards to a unit of soldiers in Iraq. Let
me know if your child has a loved one over seas. I can send their card home
with them so that it can be mailed to that serviceman/ woman.

All conferences up until 5 p.m. will be held in the kindergarten
classroom. Beginning at 5 p.m. you will find me in room 6 of the annex (the
school building behind church). Please make every effort to arrive on time so
that I can keep to the schedule.

We have been seeing some absences. Your child should be fever free for 24
hours before returning to school. Remember to call the school on the day that
your child is absent and write a note upon returning. Also, please write a
note if your child is tardy.

The book fair starts next week. You will have an opportunity to
preview and purchase any books you might want after church this Sunday
morning. Please remember to let Mrs. Thom know that you are there as the
homeroom with the highest attendance will receive a popcorn party!!! We love
snack time!

We also have the traditional, Creation Celebration of Friday Nov. 20
at 10:30. Come to the outside classroom door. Doors will open about 10:25.
Please mark your calendar. Because of our larger class size I will have to
limit the number of attendees to a maximum of 2 or 3 per family. Please let
me know via note how many will attend so that I can have enough seating
available. If you feel that you will need more than 3 seats please let me
know and I will notify you, after I get a head count, if there will be enough
room. The girls should wear their uniform jumper white socks and no long
pants underneath. The boys should be in their long uniform pants and white
shirts. You will be free to take your child home after its conclusion.

The Feast will be set to go on Tuesday, November 24th. I absolutely
need all food items no later than Wednesday November 18. Perishable items
will be kept in the refrigerator.

Dad’s Day is Friday, December 11th. The children will have many activities
to share with their Dad’s. Mark your calendar. If Dad cannot make it we
welcome grandpas, or uncles or someone else who is special in your child’s
life. We really need the white T-shirt for dad and a photo of him by this
Friday. The head of dad on the photo should be at least the size of a
quarter. I do have a couple of extra white t-shirts if anyone is interested.

I want to thank all of you for all of your help so far this year. Your
dependability and promptness with even the smallest requests makes things run
very smoothly in a busy kindergarten classroom. For all of this I am
thankful. As I have always said….. Lourdes parents are great! Have a blessed
and happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be grateful to God.

In Thanks,
Mrs. Barney
