This week in math, we will continue working on multiplication. We talked
about what is multiplication. The students need to know that it is not only
about the facts but also how and when to use multiplication with word
problems. We will start working on facts this week. This week we will
be working in class on x by 6's and 7's. The students will need to drill
facts nightly. They must have the 2's and 3's, 4's and 5's memorized. It is
very important to make sure they are memorizing their facts. The children
need to have these memorized so that they don't get behind.
We will also continue working on large number subtraction to keep
in practice.
Please study math facts nightly.
In English class, this week we will continue to work on adjectives and also
add in adverbs.
In science and social studies, we will be starting new chapters. In science
we will be studying matter. In social studies we will begin working on
Native Americans.
I will be updating this site each week so look for what is new in our
class. This will give an overview of what we will be doing in each subject
so you know what we are studying.
