Please put all completed "letter pages" in the binder you received at
Open House. Reminder all binders wiil need to be returned in May.
Numbers: practice counting, printing and recognition of
number 1-20. Counting by 2's, 5's and 10's, Review your number chart for
practice.
Practice printing name using capital letter to begin name
and lowercase to follow.
Please practice "Rhyming word families"; op, ot, ock, og.
Short Vowel Readers: Your child will
bring home a Phonetic Book containing short vowel words.
This is an exciting time for your child. They are beginning
to recognize and sound out words in print. These books are a great
opportunity for you to share a beginning reading experience with
your child.
Books will be sent home on Fridays and should be "read/shared" over
the weekend. Please return books on Monday.

Many children have reached the "100" Book Club with their
Monthly Reading Chart. Please turn these in at the end of the
month to reach your goal. Everyone is excited over all the
books we have read!
LIT KITS
I hope you are enjoying sharing the books and activities with your child. The
children are very enthusiastic about picking out a new book every Monday.
This is a great opportunity to make reading fun at your house. Reminder,
please make sure all pieces are returned in the lit-kit and returned on
Thursday of each week.
Word Banks are a hit! It is great to see and hear your child sound out new
words to add each day to their "Bank".
