Meet Your Teacher

Hello! Thank you for visiting =)

This is my ninth year of teaching, and my fifth year teaching at Glen Oak
Elementary. The teachers, kids, and parents are absolutely wonderful - it is
truly an honor to be part of such a dynamic learning community!

In my classroom, the students will learn to think and explore the world
around them through inquiry based learning and hands on activities that
relate to real life. One of my goals is to guide students to strive to be problem
solvers and responsible citizens.

Some of my favorites:
daughter: Brittany is a senior at The Ohio State University triple majoring in
communications, art/design, and psychology;
and other fun things: gardening, travel, reading, Starbucks, outdoors, food,
writing, laughing, OSU (go Bucks) and my dog Molly!!!

I received my Elementary Education Bachelor's degree from Kent State
University in 2002 and my Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden
University in 2006. Over the years I have learned so many wonderful ways to
teach my students good reading strategies and new ideas to help those who
don't like to read very much.

I am a life long learner and strive to make learning fun and fascinating.
I hope to instill this passion for learning in every student in my classroom.

MY FAVORITE QUOTE ABOUT LEARNING...
We are like a tree developing from the seeds of knowledge, growing stronger
and stronger each day to become life long learners. The seeds are the
beginning of knowledge; the trunk is the passage way for learning; every
leaf is a stage of learning; and the teacher is the root anchoring us as we
grow.
