How often do the students attend physical education class?

Kindergarten classes come to the gym twice a week for 30 minutes.  
Grades 1 thru 5 come to the gym twice a week for 35 minutes.  Is 
this enough? NO, but it is the current schedule that we follow.

How is House Bill 373 and Senate Bill 210 going to affect the future of Health and PE at Orange?

These bipartisan bills would require that schools provide 30 
minutes of moderate to rigorous physical activity for students 
each day, increase required physical education time for high 
school students from half unit to a full unit, require that 
schools offer more nutritious foods and beverages, require body 
mass index screenings for students entering 3rd, 5th, and 9th 
grades, and increase access to free breakfast for students who 
qualify.

We are currently doing a study group as a Health/PE Dept. (K-12) 
on ways to improve things here at Orange.
