Moreland Hills Physical Education Teachers

Coach "Z" is in his 14th year of teaching, 8 years here at Orange Schools. He
graduated from Slippery Rock University and is certified in both Health and
physical education (K-12). He also has his Master's degree from Cleveland
State University. He is the head varsity girls' golf coach and coaches middle
school track at Brady Middle School. He is married to his wife, Laura, and
has two boys; Ben and Braden. He is a diehard Steelers and Cavs fan and
enjoys golfing in his spare time.

Miss Gold has been teaching in the Orange City Schools for 19 years. She
graduated from Orange High School in 1988 and went to Mount Union College.
In 1992, she graduated from MUC with a Bachelors degree in physical
education. She received her Master's degree in the Art of teaching from
Marygrove College in 2001. She teaches physical education at Moreland Hills
Elementary and is also the 8th grade volleyball coach at Brady Middle
School. For the last 9 years, she has been running a 5th grade intramural
program and a 5th grade peer coaching program at MHS. She also helped begin
the anti-bully program (NBA) and peer mediation program here at MHS as well.
Ms. Gold loves Orange so much she had to move back to the community this Fall!

Mrs. Keller is the new PE teacher replacing Coach K, who retired this past
year. She was the long-term sub for Miss Gold while she was out for surgery
last school year. She graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in December 2010
and is certified to teach Health and Physical Education! She recently got
married this past July to her husband Scott. In her spare time she likes to
coach cheerleading and dance. She also likes to play with her dog Chloe! She
is very excited to be apart of the Moreland Hills family and she can’t wait
to get to know everyone.

MHS Physical Education Mission Statement

As physical educators, we encourage all students to do their best. Class
instruction promotes fitness, movement and dance, cooperative games,
individual and team sport skills, and developmental gymnastics which will
enhance life skills that will keep our children active and healthy throughout
their lives. We also encourage students to be good citizens and to develop
sportsmanship "on the field" as well as off.
