Yes, I know that my name is hard to pronounce! My mother made it up and I
have never heard of anyone else with my name. I didn't like it when I was
young, but now I think it's great to have a name all to myself!
I began teaching in 1971, the year I received my B.S. in English
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have taken graduate classes at
IUP, Penn State,Ohio University, and the University of Cincinnati. I earned
my Master's Degree in Education in 2004.
My husband and I have been married for 39 years and have a married daughter,
Sarah, who made me a grandma of a little boy, Jackson, who is now 6 and a new
baby, Gabe.
In my spare time,I love to read, play the piano, grow flowers, travel, and
play with Jackson. One of my best vacations was riding the rapids down the
Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.
I began teaching at PVHS in 2001. I am blessed to be teaching here because
PV students are the BEST!
My mission, every year, is that when you leave my room in May, you will have
mastered important reading and writing skills. I want to give you every
opportunity to practice skills in thinking, observing, reading, writing, and
using technology tools to produce work that enables you to master the
standards required by the Ohio Dept. of Education as assessed on the OGT. My
goal is to help you believe in your capabilities and to help you develop
your abilities. I hope that someday you will be in class at college, or
working at a job, and you will understand why I wanted you to master certain
reading and writing skills!
