When is Mrs. Frech available for tutorials?
I am always available for tutorials on Wednesdays after school in
Room 130; however, I prefer to be available to students on an as-
needed basis, since most students usually need help based on the
unit we are presently covering (particularly grammar, essay
writing, etc.). So if a tutorial is needed, please have the
student set up a mutually agreeable time with me.
What other means of extra help or tutorials are available?
Please be aware that there are other means of help in addition to
teacher tutorials. One highly suggested means of help is our
Mobile Unit teacher Mrs. Anderson. If your child has ongoing
difficulty in various areas of English, Mrs. Anderson can help
him or her on a regular/daily basis IF he or she has a Study
Hall. Mrs. Anderson has a been a great help to previous
students who were struggling. She assists with homework, checks
over essays and other assignments, helps prepare them for exams,
etc. If interested AND if the student has a Study Hall, you (or
your child) can contact me to put them in touch with Mrs.
Anderson through the Guidance Department (or a parent can e-mail
me directly as well). You may also contact the Guidance
Department directly if preferred.
Why doesn't Mrs. Frech post daily changes to homework on her site?
Please be aware that I do not always post daily homework changes
because the assignments often change based on a particular class
or based on difficulty in a particular area. Many assignments
change based on how far we went with our in-class reading or how
well the students did with a particular grammar unit etc. It
would be too difficult (and confusing) to post daily homework
changes to assignments on this web site due to their frequent
modifications. So...while most of the homework on this website
is up-to-date, these dates cannot be guaranteed.
I do want to make it very clear, however, that my HW assignments
and due dates should be clearly understood by the students
because they are always posted on the classroom homework board
daily with up-to-date modifications (and they remain posted for
the duration of that school week).
Where can I find information about this year's summer reading list?
The specific novel(s) to be covered along with reading guide
(s)/questions can be found on the home page of Padua's website at
paduafranciscan.com
What is the best way to reach Mrs. Frech?
I encourage parent/teacher communication. You can always reach
me by calling Padua directly at (440)845-2444. You need to be
aware, however, that by the time the message reaches me and I
call back, a day may have passed. For this reason, if you would
like a quick response, please be aware that I check my school e-
mail frequently on a daily basis (both at school and at home).
So for parent (or student) who may need a quick response or who
has an ongoing issue, e-mail may be a good way for us to
communicate. My e-mail address is afrech@paduafranciscan.com.
Both means of communication work for me. I just appreciate the
partnership!!!
What do I do if I am having difficulties with turnitin.com?
Students received a handout on what to do if difficulties are
encountered with turnitin.com. If this handout has been lost, it
is available on this website under "Downloadable Copies".
Hopefully, students followed the advice to leave enough time
for problems (which I highly encourage). Last minute/night-
before attempts often induce student panic, which is why I try to
force rough drafts, etc. in order to guarantee most of the work
is completed prior to the evening before. The key is to plan!!!
Remember...if an assignment is due to turnitin.com, and personal
home internet issues arise, a student may place the document on a
disk, CD, etc. and bring it into our Padua library for
submission. The Padua librarians have worked with turnitin.com
for quite some time now. Please refer to the "Turnitin.com
Student Guide" mentioned above for further information.
