How often does the PTA have meetings?
PTA meetings are held once a month from September through May
with the exception of December. See "Meeting Schedule" for dates
and times.
I work full-time. How can I volunteer?
Several of the PTA sponsored events are in the evening. Some take
place in the morning and even some can be done at home.
See "Wanted: VOLUNTEERS" for more information.
How much is membership?
The cost to join is only $5.00. Your $5 is divided in the
following manner: $1.00 stays at Rushwood, $1.75 for Ohio PTA
and $2.25 for National PTA. By joining Rushwood’s PTA you
automatically become a member of National PTA and receive all
the benefits associated with that membership. Your membership
card details all the benefits.
Who can join PTA?
Teachers, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends,
neighbors, and anyone else who is interested in putting our
children first!
Is there a deadline to join PTA?
Our Membership Drive begins September 2nd and continues throughout
the school year. Special recognition will be given to the
classroom that has the most memberships and special recognition
also will be given to the student in Kindergarten, Cluster A,
Cluster B, Cluster C, and Cluster D that returns the most
memberships by Monday, September 19th.
How can I find out more about the upcoming levy in November & how can I help?
The Friends of Nordonia Schools is asking for your help to get
the school levy passed in November. We estimate needing at
least 1000 volunteers. We need people coming to levy meetings,
sharing ideas, signing up to work on committees, going door-to-
door, stuffing envelopes, writing letters to the Newsleader,
reaching out through Facebook, making telephone calls, passing
out information at school and community events, etc. Please
volunteer your time to our cause. There is currently no bigger
issue in our community. Please visit www.nordonialevy.org for
more information and plan to join us on September 21, at 7pm
(location to be announced) to get involved.
There is even a Student Levy Group (which is a committee under
the Friends of Nordonia Schools group) for children of all ages
who want to save their schools. You can find more information
on that group and their activities at
