Will children get a snack time?

Children will have an afternoon snack time at around 1:55 PM, just prior to afternoon recess. Your
child may bring a DRY snack (i.e. cookies, crackers, chips, grapes, apple) to eat during this time.
They will have the opportunity to get a drink of water from the drinking fountain.

Can children bring a water bottle to school?

Since we do not have air conditioning in our classroom, children may bring a water bottle if the
forecast calls for temperatures over 75 degrees.
All water bottles should be covered with a koozie (can holder) or an old sock to keep the bottle from
sweating on the desks.
Children should not bring other types of drinks - WATER only.

What if my child is going home a different way than usual?

Your child should bring a note to school and give it to the teacher in the morning if he/she will be
going home in a different way than is normally scheduled or if he/she will be leaving early for an
appointment.
If you find out about the change during the day, please call the office to arrange for the change in
transportation. They will let me know about it. Please do not leave a voicemail as it may not be
answered before school concludes.

How do I get in touch with the teacher?

A voicemail can be left at extension 2205 after calling the school number 389-3242.

I usually return calls/emails before or after school or in the evenings.

What if my child is absent?

Please inform both the office and the teacher of the absence via email or call the office to
inform them of the absence. Please be aware that the office does NOT pass on the information
to the classroom teacher so it would be helpful to get an email especially if the absence is for
an extended period of time and so I can arrange to have any homework sent home with a neighbor
or a relative.
