I believe homework serves several practical and important purposes for second graders:
* Homework is meant to develop and foster the concepts and skills of organization, responsibility, and accountability in your child.
* It is intended to act as a reenforcement of lessons learned in class.
*Homework allows for the parents to become more actively engaged in their child's school experiences. This gives the parents a better understanding of their child's grasp of various concepts and skills.
*Your child should spend no more than 30 minutes per night completing homework. If you find that it is taking your child an inordinate amount of time to complete assignments, please contact me so we can work together to resolve the issue.
*Weekend homework consists of attending Mass, and learning to become an engaged participant in this beautiful Sacrament.
* Each day, your child will be responsible for writing his/her homework assignment(s) in the planner. We spend a great deal of time in September learning this process. Please be sure to check your child's planner daily, so that you are well-informed of your child's homework responsibilities.
