READING LOG
Part of the homework is to read for 15 minutes everynight after they read they can record it on the reading log. Return the reading log on Fri to earn beads for their reading ropes.
There are 3 kinds of reading
pretend reading-pretend you are reading(telling the story)
picture reading-look at picture and tell story
really reading- reading the words
Of course we all want to get to the 3rd stage but we're not there yet
so any of the three types of reading is acceptable at this time after Christmas we should all be really reading.
He/She must read at least 4 books/chapters a week but can always read more.
There are only 10 ways to be a better reader
READ, READ, READ, READ, READ, READ,READ, READ,
READ, READ
The graded papers will come home on Monday and ask that you note in the planner that you have been informed of the quality of work your child is completing and handing in to the teacher.
Second recess-Your child will have an afternoon recess. The children are permitted at this time to eat a snack and play. The snack is something very simple (healthy) please, do not send drinks or too many snacks.
Birthdays-Your child may bring a treat to celebrate their special day. Will celebrate summer birthdays in May.
