What does being prepared for class mean?
Being prepared for class actually takes a few steps:
1: Do your homework
2: Bring it all to school
3: Get it out of your bookbag first thing in the morning
4: Always have a pen and pencil to write with
5: Always have your assignment book
6: Always take to other classrooms everything you need
I am trying to get the students prepared for junior high when
they will not be allowed to go back into their classrooms to get
supplies they forgot. They also will not be allowed to get into
their backpacks after first thing in the morning for a few
reasons. If they are responsible, they will make sure everything
they need is at their desk. Also, the issue of something
missing out of someone's backpack seems to rear its ugly head
every year. To make sure that will never happen, they cannot go
back to their backpacks after they hang them up.
What is your homework policy
All assignments must be totally completed by the assigned due date
in order for the possibility to receive full credit. If a student
does not have an assignment completed by the due date, 20% of their
grade will be deducted, and they will be expected to work on the
assignment during recess. If it is not finished during recess, they
will have until the following day's class period to turn it in, or
stiffer penalties will be deducted from their grade. Only emergency
excuses will be accepted (emergency is determined by the teacher.
