Gr. 8 Math homework

November 16, Homework:  Read the examples and complete the test yourself: 
12,13,14,15 and 16 by Tuesday.  Mr. Von Holly gave you time in class to work 
on all of these. Now finish to the end of  test 16 by Tuesday.  Please read 
the examples.  

November November 9:  Correct tests (the high school practice test and page 
142-143:  
4-10


October 16th:  Each group must have the pages of the packet finished by 
Monday.  Group A had the first two pages to do.  Group B had the first four 
pages to do.  

October 13th:  Group A do the work sheet on Simplifying equations, adding or 
subtracting like terms.  Group B do the worksheet on substituting number 
values for variables.  Be careful of the signs.  

Octeboer 12, 2009  Look over all the tests/papers I gave back today and make 
sure you understand your mistakes.  If you have any questions, please ask 
them in class on Tuesday.
   

OCtober 6th, 2009:  Finish worksheets; both groups have worksheets to 
finish.  I will collect them on Wednesday!  My hope is that I will have the 
tests from today ready to give back tomorrow so you can have them for the 
week-end!

October 5th:  Page 95 complete 1-11, we did a couple in class do not redo 
them.  Tuesday October 6th:  Workbook page 21;  Wednesday Workbook page 22 
evens only and page 23:  19-28 Due on Monday!!  

September 28th Word Problems due on Wednesday.  


August 28th Homework:  A group:  1-5 Order of Operations worksheet
B Group:  Page 5 in workbook
 Both due Monday, August 31st.  Have a great week-end!  Hope to see you at 
the picnic on Sunday!

September 1: Group A Order of Operation worksheet 1-7 Group B Finish the

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK FOR THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.  I HOPE 
EVERYONE HAD A GREAT HOLIDAY AND VACATION!  LET'S PICK UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF 
AND LEARN...LEARN AND LOVE TO LEARN SOME MORE!!

Homework:  Get test signed and correct it by Thursday, January 5th.  


November 15, 2005: Worksheet:  only do the ones I marked to do on each 
worksheet. 

October 20, Work on the packets that I gave you for math practice in 
preparation for the HS tests.  I can see great improvement from the first 
you 
started this journey.  It is great to see you teaching each other.  As one 
person said today, "Mrs. Hamm taught me how to do that problem now let me 
see 
if I can teach you."  Teaching is the best way to see if you truly 
understand 
the concept or operation.  I am going to go over some problems I have seen 
some of you struggling with tomorrow, but the rest of the time will be 
working on the tests.  You should all have started the quantitative test by 
the end of class tomorrow.  
 
October 5, 2005  Get test signed and corrected.  Come tomorrow to work the 
test from last week - a new test if you are ready for it and lots of 
questions.  We are going to have a party in November to celebrate the end of 
standardized and high school entrance tests!!!!

September 27, 2005:  Homework stands as given on Friday, but now that we 
have 
corrected it and you have the correct answers please see if you can figure 
out what you did incorrectly and then come Thursday with questions.  Page

 I hope the test went well today.  Do not stress about it!!!
SEPTEMBER 22, 2005:  Homework stands as given on Tuesday.  We did not have 
class today so you will finish your test on Friday and we will correct 
homework during second half of bell.  Be prepared...I am not giving the 
double beel to finish the test.  

SEPTEMBER 20, 2005  HOMEWORK:  REVIEW WHAT YOU WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH ON 
THE TEST SO YOU CAN DO BETTER ON THURSDAY...MOVE FASTER THROUGH THE TEST.

WILL FINISH THE TEST ON THURSDAY.  ALSO DUE ON THURSDAY PAGE 171: 14-21.  WE 
TOOK THIS LAST YEAR....PLEASE REVIEW IN YOUR BOOK THE PAGES 169-170 AND SEE 
IF YOU CAN DO THOSE EIGHT PROBLEMS.  THINK!!!!! COMBINE THE LIKE VARIABLES 
ON 
ONE SIDE AND THEN SOLVE FOR THE VARIABLE.  IF YOU READ THIS YOU CAN HAVE AN 
INCENTIVE POINT!!!
SEPTEMBER 19, 2005 HOMEWORK:  REMEMBER TEST ON TUESDAY!  SCIENTIFIC 
NOTATIONS, METRIC SYSTEM, ALL THE FORMULAS ON YOUR SHEETS AND 
EQUATIONS...ADDING SUBTRACTING, MULTIPLYING AND DIVIDING AND TWO STEP 
EQUATIONS.  STUDY!!!
SEPTEMBER 15, 2005  HOMEWORK:  PAGE 115:  #'S 30-43 ALL:  Give it your best 
effort please.  Check your work and think it through!!!   If you read this 
on 
the internet come to me Friday and I will give you an incentive point!!!

SEPTEMBER 8, 2005:  HOMEWORK:  THE STUDY SKILLS TEST - QUESTIONS - SHOW YOUR 
WORK. FINISH THE COMPUTER LEAGUE MATH COMPETITION FOR 8TH GRADE TEST AND 
ALGEBRA I TEST.  WHEN YOU DO THE SKILLS TEST PLEASE LOOK AT YOUR NOTES THAT 
YOU TOOK IN CLASS TODAY.  YOU ALL DID A GREAT JOB TAKING NOTES TODAY....I 
WAS 
IMPRESSED.  PLEASE BRING HOMEWORK FROM TONIGHT AND THOSE TWO TESTS TO CLASS 
ON FRIDAY.
HOMEWORK:  NO HOMEWORK FROM FRIDAY OTHER THAN LOOK OVER THE SKILLS TEST WE 
WENT OVER ON FRIDAY AND THE GRADE 8 AND ALGEBRA TESTS FROM THE INTERNET.  
REMEMBER YOU NEED TO USE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND PROBLEM SOLVE!!
