STAR OF THE WEEK: Kenneth Ward and Esther Flores
Kenneth has been an outstanding citizen all week and the first student to win
a chance to play football with Mr. Goedde. Good job!
Esther has been putting 100% of her effort in her academic studies. Good job!
First Grade's Touch Rules:

SPELLING TEST: We have a spelling test this Thursday.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We continue to work on plural nouns. We were introduced to
adjectives. This week we are reading Fairy Tales and books about Valentine's
Day. We will be creating many heart projects and writing our own Valentine's
Day poem. Next week, we are looking forward to Fairy Tale Character Day!
Sentence Rules:
1. Sentences begin with capital letter.
2. Sentences end with periods.
3. Sentences have space between words.
4. Sentences need to make sense.
Phonics: We are working on long o patterns.
MATH: We have started learning about telling time and counting coins. We are
currently working on graphing.
Religion: We read a book about St. Valentine and made valentine cards for
residents at a retirement facility.
Your child should already know the following prayers:
1. Our Father
2. Hail Mary
3. Sign of the Cross
4. Morning Offering
5. Evening Offering
Ask your child to recite some of our new prayers.
