What's happening in Kindergarten?

Dear families,

Welcome back to school after an exciting and wonderful Catholic School’s Week and 100thDay! We have been really enjoying ourselves and the fun doesn’t stop this week. This week we will be learning all about Valentine’s Day. It’s a wonderful time of year to remember those we love most in our lives. It’s a blessing to have such wonderful people in our lives and this is our time of year to tell everyone! The February Family Project was sent home last week and will need to be completed by Tuesday, February 14. This will be just in time for our Valentine’s Day party. A list of children’s names was printed on the back of the family project. I am sending another copy home on the back of this newsletter just in case :0) We have 18 students in our class and if you decide to send in treats or valentines, please make sure to include all children. I do not want someone to be left out.

In reading, we will be learning about the letter Ll and our sight words this week are here, she, and all. Our new hunk and chunk will be /ch/. In math, we are finishing up our chapter on numbers 1-20 and moving on to numbers 1-100. PLEASE help your child by counting with them by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100. Practice writing numbers (ie. “Write the number 15, 73, 45, 62, etc.) We need a lot of help with this and I need your help. It only takes 2-3 minutes a day and what a difference a little help from home makes! In religion we are learning that God helps us discover. Please continue to recite the prayersOur FatherandHail Maryevery night. We have been working on this in class.
