My name is Jan McManus and I am in my sixth year teaching here at SJOV
School. Overall this is my 24th year in Catholic education. My husband, Tim,
is the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Vivian Church.
We reside in Springfield Township where we raised our three sons. Mike
(Roger Bacon 00) lives in Hamilton, Ohio. Matt (Roger Bacon 01 and
Mississippi State 08) lives in Finneytown. Dan (Roger Bacon 04 and Franklin
College 09) resides in Franklin, IN.
When I am not teaching or crafting lesson plans, I am a writer and
runner/walker (Flying Pig Marathon finisher 01, 07, 08, 09,and 10). I also
enjoy cooking/nutrition, growing spiritually, meditation, and reading.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Edgecliff
College of Xavier University in 1982. In 2004 I earned a Masters of Arts in
Teaching from the Ohio Writing Project at Miami University. A lifelong
learner, I enjoy taking classes, workshops, and reading non-fiction.
Everyday I strive to live and to teach with faith, to walk with humility, to
serve with love, and to treat people in the light of peace and justice. My
goal is to challenge my students to be the best versions of themselves.
