Yes, that's right! I couldn't wait to come back and see all of your smiling
faces! This year will be jammed packed with learning and fun!!
I will be teaching Computer and Spanish for grades K-8 and Art to grades 1-8.
This is the second year for Spanish for the entire K-8 student body, and we
will be building upon our learning from last year. We will begin the year
reviewing topics from last year and then move to more advance topics. Señora
Lucio will also be returning to help us with our Spanish pronunciations! We
will also, be celebrating 3 Spanish holidays: Day of the Dead (Diá de los
Muertos), the Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe (la virgen de guadalupe), and
Cinco de Mayo.
In Art, we will continue learning the principles and elements of art along
with more about famous artists. I plan on getting messy as much as possible,
so remember to bring paint shirts! We will paint, draw, sculpt, and have tons
of fun!
In Computer, we will continue to learn basics about computer parts and
operations, as well as, exploring new techniques in Word, Excel and
Powerpoint. We'll discuss internet safety, do internet research projects and
play online games (educational games, of course!).
I am actively working with all of the classroom teachers, as well as Mrs.
Zavac who will be teaching Music and Library, integrate daily lesson plans
into Art, Computer and Spanish. This will enable learners of all types to be
successful and reach their full potential.
Thanks, to all of the families who donated to our Art program. Check out my
wishlist. One man's junk is an art teacher's dream come true!
Parents please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am eager
to keep the doors of communication open!
