This week we will be reading the next story in our reader. We will be having our spelling pretest on Monday and the test will be on Friday.

Please keep studying addition and subtraction facts with your child. We will continue to have timed tests periodically.

***Just a heads up moms and dads- I just wanted to bring to your attention the problem we are having in our room. It has become a "haven of carelessness". Since there are only 10 weeks (can you believe it!) until your children are in the 3rd grade, we have been practicing acting like 3rd graders. I expect not to have to say directions 21 times and issue "personal invitations" to follow my directions. Students are hurrying through their work(homework and classwork) and they are being very sloppy and careless. I also expect the tattling and "excessive" silliness to stop.(Let's face it there will be some silliness because they are only 7 or 8 but lately the sillies have taken over our classroom.) I love your children and I want to see them do well when it is time for them to go on to the 3rd grade. Please talk with your children and help me to help them put their best foot forward until the end of the year.
