Week of February 6-10

Monday- Review new vocabulary and spelling words.  Begin your book report.
Begin to review Word List 3.  I will be checking your child’s mastery of 
these words.

Tuesday- Write 6 sentences using your spelling words.  Print neatly and 
underline the spelling word you are using.  

Wednesday- Math practice pages 85A and B.  Fact 83.

Thursday- Read Kids Have Fun! aloud to mom/dad.  Study for your spelling 
test.  Book report due tomorrow.

NOTES FOR THE WEEK:
* Just a reminder about “Super Readers”….. please remember to help your child 
prepare to share a book.  “Super Readers” starts tomorrow!

* Book orders are due on Friday!

* Next Tuesday is Valentine’s Day.  We will exchange valentines and do 
special activities.

Reading/ Language- Contractions with not (i.e.  can not = can’t, is not = 
isn’t).  Word endings -ed,-ing.  3 letter blends: spr, scr, spl, thr.  Unit 3 
Assessment   

Religion- Learning different ways to pray.

Math- Telling time to the half hour.  Adding 10 to a number.  Adding 2-digit 
numbers with regrouping.  As a “rule” from now on, please be practicing 
addition and subtraction facts  nightly.  Just 3-5 minutes of flashcards 
would be a great help.  We will continue to work on the “doubles plus one” 
facts this week (i.e. 4+5, 5+6, 6+7, 7+8, etc.)
