Preparation for Movie Making and Creating Digital Stories

OBJECTIVES:

* Write autobiographical poems to help students get to know each other
* Practice writing with concrete and abstract nouns, adjectives, and adverbs
* Communicate "who you are" through words and graphics
* Extend and enhance writing and vocabulary with the use of a thesaurus
* Use one's imagination and creativity

* Use a digital camera
* Learn how to create a project using Photo Story 3
* Become Knowlegable on the technique of voice-overs
* Create a unified presentation (music optional)
* Burn the project to a DVD

Checklist:

 * Write an autobiographical poem, using the format above
 * Use the online Thesaurus in Word to choose new and more 
dazzling descriptive words
 * Use the digital camera to take your picture. Download the picture and 
save it in the appropriate place.
 * Find a graphic/s on the WWW or photos from home that depict (communicate) 
something about your interests. 
 * Use Digital imagery to convey abstract concepts -- how will you 
portray "peace"?
 * Create your storyboard -- you MUST turn in your planning sheet (all 
frames MUST be mapped out) so you are ready to roll when you sit down to 
create your digital poem
 * Add voiceover to your digital poem
 * Add background music if you like (optional)

These projects will be burned to a DVD and will be shown at Open House 
in January.
