This is the take home test for April Morning. You will be allowed to use
any notes, books, references that you need to complete. Answers should be
in ink or typed. Double space if typed. It is due Monday, 30 November.
April Morning Essay
1) Bildungsroman is a word that means "coming of age" story. In a short
essay (5 paragraph theme--400 words or so) tell how April Morning is an
example of one. Use details, quotations, etc. to support your thesis.
2) Authors often use symbolic names for their characters to help "define"
them. Choose 3 of the following names from the book and explain how they
are symbolic of the characters.
On your essay questions be sure to document using page numbers for quotes or
direct support from the book. (Biblical references--hint, hint!) Adam,
Joseph, Moses,Sarah, Isaac, Levi, Ruth
