Mrs. Ladner's Kindergarten Kids Are The BEST! |
Very Important Weekly Reminders!Snacks!
Please be sure that you are sending in with your child each day a healthy snack! PLEASE, no chocolate, cookies, chips, etc. If you have questions about this please click on the snack guidelines section of this site for more detailed information. Thank you for helping to keep your child healthy and thinking clearly for strong productive learning here at school while providing good, nutritional snacks!
Poetry Folders Are Always Due Back Every Monday!
Please spend time each weekend reading through the newest poem(s) found in your child's Poetry Folder. I will always try to send the folders home each week so that there are several poems to read and share together. This is a great activity for spending quality time together building upon skills we have practiced in class.
Library Books Are To Be Returned On Wednesdays of Each Week!
Each student needs to bring to class on Wednesday of each week his/her library book. If the book is not returned weekly then a new one cannot be checked until the current book selection has been returned. Thanks for helping your child be responsible for this weekly task.
Establishing Good Study Habits Are Important!
Having a "homework time" each day is
essential to the development of your child and is an important skill
that will stay with them throughout their school career.
Please take time each day to check your child’s book bag for
various assignments that may be given. In Kindergarten there is not specific daily homework but rather daily concept and tasks that can be practiced to begin the life-long skill of good study habits. Please refer to the 'Activities That Can Be Done At Home' section of this web-site to find the concepts and skills we are and have been working on. It is a terrific idea to set
aside a small amount of time each evening to do "homework". Even if an
assignment is not given for homework begin a good habit by reading with
your child, reviewing the ABC letters (upper and lower case), recall
numbers, practice rhyming, coloring and writing their first and last
name just to name a few ideas that you could do during this "homework
time".
By setting aside this time each day and beginning good
study habits now, you are laying the foundation for a solid
understanding of how important school is here at Woodland Elementary
and at home. Always check the web-site for ideas that can help you make this study time productive and fun!
Let’s work together to help develop great habits now so that your
son/daughter will become stronger both academically and in the area of
responsibility. Thank you for taking the time to help your child succeed!
