What is PBIS?

PBIS is . . .

 

* a school-wide system that utilizes evidence-based strategies and systems to assist with the increase of academic performance AND safety while decreasing problem behaviors.
 
*a school-wide system that provides a positive and effective alternative to traditional methods of discipline.
 
* a school-wide system that includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments

 

PBIS is Data Driven
We use data collected to:
1.  Characterize and understand a situation.
 
2.  Evaluate the effectveness and quality of current and future implementations.
 
3.  Guide development of new practices.
 
4.  Monitor student and program progress.
