Purpose of the Media Skills Course:
Students will gain in-depth understanding of different types of media and how media is categorized, utilized, and stored in both hard copy and electronic formats.
The class will use the State of Ohio Academic Content Standards and Grade Level Guide for the curriculum and syllabus.
Areas or study:
· Students will be able to locate, process, evaluate and use information.
· Students will use information technology for information access, retrieving, production of information
· The learners will use the internet, school networks and utilize media devices for delivering and retrieving information.
· Students will use media literacy to promote critical thinking skills, identify information needs, and evaluate resources in a variety of forms.
