RULES FOR READING PROJECT:
1. Bring one of your two novels to class daily.
2. You may NOT read a novel that has been used in another teacher's lessons.
Be careful with this one; teachers talk. I found out that someone tried to
use a novel that was taught in class, and she didn't receive ANY credit.
3. The novel MUST be part of the Accelerated Reading Program.
4. You must write down the title of your novel every time you check out a new
book. You will only receive credit for novels you read between September 2011
and May of 2012.
5. You must bring your novel to class EVERY DAY!!! As soon as you're finished
with your daily reading and writing assignments, I expect you to start reading
your novel. You will receive 10 points per day for having your materials
(such as literature book, vocabulary book, novel, paper, pencil, etc.), so
please be responsible!
6. The Reading Project will be worth 500 points per quarter. In other words,
it is equal to five exams. You may only take a test during my class period; I
will stand by the printer and wait for the test to print. There will be NO
talking during testing.
7. When you finish a novel, please take a test on your book the next time we
are in the library. I need the printout of your test in order to give you a
grade. DUE TO CHEATING, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE TEST BEFORE OR AFTER
SCHOOL; YOU WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO TEST DURING MY CLASS PERIOD. I WILL SIT
AT THE PRINTER AND TAKE THEM AS THEY'RE PRINTED. I also need the title of
your new novel, so please see rule #4. Thanks!
8. YOU WILL START A NEW READING PROJECT EVERY QUARTER!!!!!!!
