Word Study is developmental and a huge part of Phonics, Vocabulary

Words Their Way is a practical way to study words
based on research of developmental spelling and word knowledge.  Your child
will learn spelling and vocabulary based on the way he naturally learns at
his developmental or instructional level.

I will meet your child where he is developmentally and help build
a "Strategy Tool Box" for not only spelling, but
the understanding of words and why words are spelled the way they are. There
will be no memorization of a list of words but a true working list with
sorts and explanations that your child will learn and understand. We will be
building on what is known about words to what is new. It is very powerful
to have the knowledge of the many ways a certain vowel sound can be spelled
in words as your child reads and writes.

Practice your words for Word Study with SPELLING CITY!  You can play games and you can even take a spelling test if you want! Each word will be "read"  to you or given to you in a sentence..it's YOUR choice.
