We will have phonics/spelling and math homework each night except for
Fridays.
I always try to have the spelling words listed on my SPELLING LIST
link the Friday before for those who would like to get a head start on
studying.
They will also have a dictation part to their spelling test where I read two
sentences to them and they have to write down the sentence correctly. On this
section of the test I am looking for a complete sentence that begins with a
capital letter, ends with correct puncuation, has finger spaces inbetween
each word, and is written down in the correct order in their best
handwriting. Points are taken given for each of these areas.
Other homework that will be expected each night will be practicing sight word
lists and reading their decodable books that will start coming home around
lesson 11 and their library books, (which you can read to them until they
start checking out books on their AR reading level.
