Why should I study music?

I could give you correlations between music and testing scores,
medical careers, collegiate success, and abstract reasoning, but
here are some personal reasons I first think of:
*to transmit culture of the past & develop culture of today
*to express yourself in a way, related to, but outside of your
core classes
*to learn the power of music and its role in our society
*to create beauty
*to use both your imagination & logic- to healthily challenge
yourself
*to leave the world differently than you found it; to make a
difference
*to meet your potential: Everyone has potential in music that
needs to be developed!
*to enhance the quality of your & others' lives...give it a try!
