I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a BA.Ed. degree
in 1987. I am mainly licensed in Art Education but also licensed in Biology
Education and Middle School Science.
I have been making pottery for the last 24 years. Even though I feel I am
proficient in most of the art fields, I seem to like pottery the best.
I served our country for 10 years of Naval service with three tours in Viet
Nam as a Naval photographer. Later I switched to another field that I found
interesting and became an Intelligence specialist dealing mainly with
Satellite Surveillance. The Navy also gave me a great opportunity to observe
many cultures by allowing me to visit different areas of the world.
My Grandson had recently and I am very enlisted in the Navy to become a Master
at Arms (the Navy's version of Military Police) proud of him. He has just
returned from being stationed in Masawa, Japan. Yes he knows what a tsunami
looks like now.
My classes are not just how to make ceramics or developing creativity but an
exercise in problem solving skills, self-discipline and just plain having
fun.
