I was raised in a family that created and supported the arts. I graduated
from in 2003. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education
from the University of Central Oklahoma. In 2008, I became a National
Board Certified Teacher(NBCT).
I have been married since 1999 to Matt Dean and have a daughter, Maya and
step-daughter, Jordan. We have 2 precious dogs, Merlin and Oscar. We attend
St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
I am always looking for ways to increase my knowledge
about art by attending art shows, workshops and creating art.
The arts serve as the primary signature of a culture, carrying our individual
and collective images and ideas from one generation to another. Art
education encourages a student to effect his or her environment. This art
program will allow for discovery and creative problem solving and in the
process, cultivates learners who are able to make positive contributions to
society.
