Can I have a textbook at home in addition to the one I have at school?

We have only enough textbooks for each student to have one book. I will be
happy to show you how to locate the online textbook.

Is there a classroom set of math books?

No. However, the textbook is available on-line as well as on CD-ROM. Please
contact me if you are interested.

What is the difference between red and blue book math?

Course 1, the "red book", is used with the 6th grade curriculum.
Course 2, the "blue book", is used with the 7th grade curriculum.
Since I have both 6th and 7th graders in my classes, I find it causes less
confusion to refer to the books by their color, instead of their grade level.

This math is too easy for me; can I advance to the next level math class?

I do my best to have each student in the level of math where he or she will
succeed. If you feel that you have been placed in a level of math that is
not challenging your current level of math skills, let me know and we can
discuss what class is best for you.

Are there summer sessions that cover 6th & 7th grade math and Pre-Algebra?

This past summer, Angela Burnett (one of our DCMS math teachers), offered
summer sessions on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade level math. Some of these
courses are designed as refresher courses. Other classes are intended to
help a student pass the proficiency test for a particular level of math in
order to advance to the next level.
