Welcome to 7th grade L.A. Composition! I look forward to a great year.
This is my 33rd year of teaching, seventeen of which have been with Deer
Creek. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades. I received my
degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1978. Go Sooners! Before coming
to Deer Creek, I taught with Union Public Schools and a private school in
Florida. I am married to Tony, who is the Transportation Coordinator for
Piedmont Public Schools. I have two grown daughters and two precious
grandsons who keep me very busy! In my rare free time I enjoy reading,
camping, and attending OU football games.

My goal is that each student will become a more proficient writer through
the study of grammar, usage, mechanics, and the writing process. I hope
that students will apply all of the skills learned in class to their own
writing. Also, I would like to help students overcome their trepidation
about writing so that they will come to view the process as enjoyable!
