Please join PTA at your child's school. Then attend the meetings, and participate in any way you can. Knowing a parent is involved helps your child know that you care about education. They usually work harder at learning because they know you care.

The following are just a few of many activities that could be used to help your child learn to improve English language fluency:

Discussing in English the day's events

Reading in your home language or English to your child and your child reading to you, then talking about what was read

Educational television programs, e.g., Channel 13, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel--not over 1 hour on school nights

Games(including computer games) which use pictures and words--not over 1 hour on school nights

Visits to parks, museums, circuses, fairs, etc.
