• 1st Practice spelling words
• 2nd Practice Multiplication Math facts
• 3rd read ar book for ar test
Please be sure to work with your child on their addition speed and accuracy
at home each evening during the month of September. In October we will be
testing on Subtraction once a week and speed and accuracy are crucial as
children find it difficult. November of course it will be time for
multiplication.
I would like every child to be reading a chapter book from our library on
his/her level for at least 20 minutes each night. When they have finished
they can test on the book in the classroom with our Accelerated Reader
program.
Our typical day follows:
7:45-8:00 Go to class
8:00-8:10 DARE work for Math
8:20-9:10 Reading
9:10-10:00 Specials
10:00-10:50 Integrated Reading/Language/Writing/Spelling (snacks)
9:50-11:30 Integrated Reading/Science/Social Studies
11:30-12:20 Math part I
Lunch 12:20-12:45 Recess 12:45-1:10
1:20-2:45 Math part II
2:45 check Rock S.T.A.R. binders & prepare to go home
Library Time is Monday at 1:20-2:00
Computer Time is Wednesday at 8:40-9:10
